Inclusion of xscope or xmon into R7.1

Is there any chance to include an easy to use X11 protocol analyzer into
the app module of R7.1?

Something along the lines of xscope or xmon?

ftp://ftp.x.org/contrib/devel_tools/xmon.1.5.6.README
http://keithp.com/cvs/xscope/

What is the copyright status of these two?

Would the current maintainers be happy to include one of them into the
Xorg tree to make it the official X11 protocol analyzer tool?

I believe such a tool would be extremely useful and including it into
the X.Org release would make it easier to ensure that it keeps being
properly maintained, tested and updated.

Wishlist:

  - full coverage of X11 protocol extensions

  - a simpler commandline interface, such that the user only types

      xscope <command> <arguments>

and then (just like with "ssh -X") the command gets started by xscope
with an appropriately set DISPLAY variable (i.e., no more manual
    fiddling with xscope port-number options).

  - addition of some options for measuring performance metrics
of X clients (data transmitted for particular actions, etc.)
