xorg and hotkey api

Hi all.

I am looking for some informations how xorg handle hotkeys, how i can
register/unregister hotkeys and how i can get notifyed for a hotkey.

I need this informations to fix a fixme in WINE - www.winehq.com - the
windows api emulator.

So i would be quite happy, if somebody can give me some hints.
