Forget I ever said .1-5; it was a thinko.  If dpkg reports .1-3 being
installed, then .1-3 is installed.

I'd suggest that he's posted up an old Xorg.0.log (he mentioned posting
Xorg.0.log.old), and that he should try posting a current one?
