Xorg 1.1.1 + Mesa 6.5.2 = White screens with i810 driver and beryl/compiz

Hi,

Just trying to debug something and figure people here may know.

After upgrading Mesa to 6.5.2 when starting beryl everything goes white.
Sometimes I can see and use the occasional window OK, but usually not.

I tried updating GLProto to the latest version and rebuilding the xorg
server but to no avail.

Has anyone got any ideas to to what would cause this?

I tried:

glproto = 1.4.8
mesa = 6.5.2 + xorg 1.1 compatibility patch from fedora
x11-server = 1.1.1 + mesa 6.5.1/2 patches also from fedora
beryl 0.1.4

(built in that order).

But everything was still borked.

Anything else I should take into consideration?
