getting randr working

Allright,
I've waited a bit, finished everything else for the break, and tried
again. I tried all of these branches, told the keyboard driver to stop
whining about the xserver version and build anyway, and got some more
failure, included below.

Keith, you seem to be doing much of the work on this, so what is it
that you have checked out?
