I see Gnome works for some of us "qute well", "slopy" or "dead slow" maybe it's related to some components versioning ? I don't know. I use Gnome 2.12.1, gtk+ 2.8.6 with cario 1.0.2 compiled with glitz support and glitz 0.4.4. Desktop is running in 1280x1024x24 with Xorg 7.0RC1 with a little updated EXA and Radeon drivers.

I can say definitly dead slow here. Try to disable drawing of a desktop and run program like torsmo, with this my desktop starts to be realy slow, but if I run a gnome terminal it almost stops here :/ I know this sounds funny but with that there is realy hard to move a terminal window for example. Also this regular dri stops with glxgeard maybe both are related to each other ?

Also I obseerve one thing when using KDE with EXA now. When the system is heavy loaded the mouse pointer is realy jumpy or even it stops for some time. I am sure this effect was not present with XAA or I am wrong ? I wonder is there a good idea to renice X process to for example '-1'
