Why X protocol/server forbid zero width/height?

Ah, you haven't detected the deep, dark, plot ;-)...  We are much of the
way through this process already, with the new extensions, and all the
old apps continue to run.

Turns out the protocol framework is decent enough that we don't suffer
too badly by remaining in its framework.
