With just over two weeks left until the scheduled release of the
final release candidates for X11R6.9 & X11R7.0, we have 78 open
bugs currently marked as blocking those releases. You can see
the current list at any time at:
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/showdependencytree.cgi?id=1690&hide_resolved=1
So starting Monday, November 14, and continuing every week until the
releases of X11R6.9 & X11R7.0, X.Org will be holding "bug days" in
the #xorg-devel IRC channel on the freenode IRC network.
As long as it's Monday somewhere in the world, it will be time for
X.Org developers to gather in IRC and discuss the remaining blocker
bugs for these releases and brainstorm and collaborate on fixes.
Obviously, not everyone can be around all the time, but by picking
one day a week to concentrate attention and efforts, we hope to get
a greater intersection of developers and hackers than normally seen.
Of course, any time you have time to work on helping solve our blocker
bugs is a good time to do so, even if it's not a designated bug day.
The release managers will try to be available as well during much of
these days to facilitate review of patches, so if you have submitted
a patch for approval and would like to explain it to a release manager,
this will be a good opportunity. (We're often around at other
times as well - just look for the IRC users alanc, ajax, and kem in
#xorg-devel.)
If you have more than a line or two of text to share, such as from
Xorg.0.log or xorg.conf files, please post on a web site such as
http://pastebin.com and only put the URL into IRC, so the flow of
conversation is not disrupted.
If you're unfamiliar with IRC or the freenode network, please see:

Thank you for your help with making this a successful release!
