i915 and hardcoded 75 Hz refresh rate?

Removed both entries. Now is works again with 1280 x 1024, but only 75 Hz.

There are other differences:

- when shutting down X/gdm (/etc/init.d/gdm stop), the display goes 
black and does not show any text. I can blindly log in and reboot though.

- the font used at Gnome login is now reasonably sized (it was tiny before)
