      I finally got a chance to test these patches on my r128 (M3). 
There's good news and bad news.  The good news is that the patches
don't seem to break anything as long as the dri is not enabled.  The
bad news is that when I enable the dri, X never starts and I get tons
of this spewed to my X log:
