6.9 should work "out of the box" on 2.6.14 as far as I'm aware...

As r300 is still very experimental, once you have an X DDX that
supports it, I'd recommend using the Mesa and DRM CVS trees to provide
the kernel DRM and 3D client libraries as the work is moving along
quite swiftly.. it is rare for any changes to be needed in the DDX.
