Need advice: Mobile ATI card with 'shared' memory - EXA performance?

I picked up a HP dv8040us last weekend, which has a Turion, and
an ATI card with a novel (to me at least) feature.
The BIOS offers the option of using dedicated video ram (128MB)
_and_ the option of also using up to an additional 256MB of system RAM.
