Problems with x.org under ubuntu/debian

Hi,
 
I've a Sony FX701 notebook which runs ubuntu breezy with x.org 6.8.2-77.
I can switch between LCD and VGA with my fn keys but only with the
console not in X!
Under xfree86 I had no problems with that.
When I press the fn-key + f7 to switch, there is a short lack blink, it
seems he like to try to switch, but nothing happens.
 
When I switch in from LCD to VGA in the console and start x after that,
I can see the screen at the monitor, but I can't switch now from VGA to
LCD...
 
Can someone help me?
