i810 dual head resolutions

I tried the latest debian release (v6.8.2.dfsg.1-5, which has drop-in i810
stuff from HEAD), but I'm still having i810 issues. 

Maybe someone reading this has a solution? I run X on my CRT with a
1600x1200, which works great. When I try running a dual head configuration I
get 1400x1050 on the LCD -- but only 1280x1024 on the CRT.
