long pause before application starts

Hi,

I compile and update Xorg to 6.7.99.904 on my desktop. Everything seems fine 
but now it takes much (~1 minute) longer to start an application and booting 
KDE takes nearly 10 minutes. Does anybody know what's wrong?  The only thing 
I did before "make install" was to move my X root 
directory /opt/Xorg-6.7.99.1 to /usr/local/Xorg-6.7.99.1 to have more 
diskspace (/opt/Xorg-6.7.99.1 now is a link to /usr/local/Xorg-6.7.99.1).

Could anybody help with this? Thanks a lot,
