You want to spew warnings (and cause some misbehavior) for users of
these languages for all applications because your application doesn't
support the languages? What is the sense in that?

Maybe what you are missing here is that Indic languages *cannot be
handled* with current Xlib APIs. They require a new API - whether that's
Pango, Qt, CTL, ICU, etc, is really not important to this discussion.

Multiple such APIs exist in the open source world and are in current use
by thousands of applications.
