Misterious Xorg 6.8.1 keyboard problem

Hello,
the problem I described earlier I identified as a fight for keyboard
control between X and getty.
The solution was to remove terninals from init level 5. However, I'm
wondering if there a way to specify that I want X to run on virtual
terminal 7 instead of one that will be used by init to initialize
consoles.
I found that XDM can do this by usign option "vt" however, I can't
find similar information about  startx/xinit...

Any help is really appreciated,
