Hello,
This is my frist time posting messenge to this mailing list. I got a
question, I
hope some of the experts on Linux would spend a few minutes answering
my question.
I installed the latest Fedora Core 2 Linux, however I couldn't log into the
GUI windows. While in the text-besd shell environment, I got this strange
messenge every several minutes:
INIT: Id " X " respawning too fast: dusabled for 5 minutes
After away from the computer, I would get back with a screen look like this:
INIT: Id " X " respawning too fast: dusabled for 5 minutes
INIT: Id " X " respawning too fast: dusabled for 5 minutes
INIT: Id " X " respawning too fast: dusabled for 5 minutes
INIT: Id " X " respawning too fast: dusabled for 5 minutes
INIT: Id " X " respawning too fast: dusabled for 5 minutes
INIT: Id " X " respawning too fast: dusabled for 5 minutes
INIT: Id " X " respawning too fast: dusabled for 5 minutes
INIT: Id " X " respawning too fast: dusabled for 5 minutes
INIT: Id " X " respawning too fast: dusabled for 5 minutes
INIT: Id " X " respawning too fast: dusabled for 5 minutes
I have restalled two three times, and still the same. The machine that I
installed
the Fedora Core 2 Linux has only one hard-drive, it is the only OS. The
display
card is Nvidia GeForce FX, P4 1.5Hz and 768 MB of RAM. That should meet all
the requirement of Fedora Linux.
PS: The machine that I'm typing this messenge is not the same machine that I
installed Fedora Core 2 Linux. The shell seems to work fine, I just don't
understand
why it could not login to GUI desktop. startx command doesn't work either.
This is my first time using Linux, please forgive my ignorance.
Thanks,
Alex
