[Xorg] difference between Xserver/Xext/libext.a and Xext/libexts.a ?

Can someone explain the motivation for these 2 libs?  It appears that libext.a 
are for loadable extensions, yet some .o's are brought into both libs.
While this may work, it is confusing.  Could this be cleaned up before or after
the first release?
