DPS is simply a server-side Postscript rendering engine - not server
side widgets. (Perhaps someone is confusing DPS with NeWS, which was
a completely separate window system that used Postscript rendering and
server side widgets. You should be able to find out more about that
in a web search of long-ago window system wars.)
About the only thing that DPS actually is used for in Xsun today is
viewing Postscript documents in the CDE & OpenWindows image viewers.
(GNOME on Solaris uses Ghostscript on the client side to display
Postscript files, just like GNOME on Linux.)
