Your screenshot doesn't look like a showcase of a minor glitch to me. :D

No. This option doesn't change anything (look at the corners of the 
windows):

I still don't have gnome-terminal compiled because it needs libGLU. (it 
should be taken from Mesa on an xlibs based system?) Last time I've 
tried it was severly broken but so was my X11-libs/xlibs mixture.
