[Xorg] XVIDEO memory problems under Xorg

I am wondering if someone who is familiar with Xorg vs XFree86 in
terms of XVIDEO could take a look at this bug:

Basically, users of both the ATI binary drivers and the Matrox driver
are complaining that XVIDEO applications can't be run until they shut
down pixmap-eating apps like Mozilla. This problem does not seem to
occur under XFree86 (or at least, not nearly as frequently). I hear a
lot of complaints from FC2 users about this bug.

Is there something that changed in how video memory is being
allocated between the two X servers?
