Oh! OK, thanks for telling me, and I apologize for committing
prematurely. I assumed that since I'd gotten no response after I posted
the bug report and patch to Bugzilla three months ago, that nobody but
me cared... :-)

I was committing the patch from this bug, which I think should be quite
unobjectionable:

I would also appreciate consideration of this bug:

I have a proposed patch there but the XCloseDisplay fix doesn't quite
work, and I'm not sure how to correctly fix the problem.

I found one other bug in the test suite, but I have no fix for it:
