OK, I can understand that the foundation cares about branding. But is
the naming of tarballs really the best place to do this? How many people
are ever going to see these, considering that almost everyone installs
from a package manager? Perhaps in the documentation or somewhere
similar would work better.

I just can't think of a situation where I would care about this. I'm
