I believe the end result with "greedy" is that much less operations get
hardware accelerated, including this one in most cases as noted on the
bug (but not always), and the software renderer obviously doesn't have
the bug (as you already know from fbdev or vesa usage).

It would be nice to find the cause and get a fix to it, but no-one seems
to have had time to investigate this further, including me.
