[Xorg-driver-geode] do i still need to patch the xorg server?

Hi guys,

Maybe a newbie question ...

I am using the latest driver from GIT on my system based on Ubuntu ... do I
still need the Xorg patch that are available on the AMD developer support
website? How does the patch affect the performance and does AMD have a newer
patch for the Xorg server.

Also, how would I be able to increase the maximum resolution support for XV.
