Hello everyone,
As some of you might have noticed, support for the GX2 hardware has
been somewhat shaky recently. The good news is that a few fixes have
been committed to GIT and we need volunteers to test them on GX2
hardware, since most of us only have LX hardware on our hands.
One other fix I'm still trying to produce is to change the default
Accel method for GX2 to use XAA, since our EXA support on GX2 is
currently broken. However, I have yet to figure out where the default
Accel method is defined in the source code. Everything seems to point
to src/gx_driver.c as the right place to look but as I'm still
learning to digest the old GX2 code, I'm not 100% positive of where to
change the default. If anyone knows, please let me know ASAP.
Once we've been able to verify that what's in GIT doesn't introduce
any ugly regression, we'll release what we have as xf86-video-geode
2.11.4 near the end of this week. This of course requires that anyone
who finds a regression lets us known ASAP via this list.
As usual, if there's any issue for which there is a known patch out
there, please attach it to the appropriate bug report on the X.org
Bugzilla and ping this list right after.
Btw, the URL for our wiki page was changed a couple of weeks ago. Please
update your bookmarks accordingly to http://wiki.x.org/wiki/GeodeDriver
Best Regards,
Martin-Éric
