Hmm... with 2.7.7.6 + widemode + X.org 1.3 with 3 x86emu patches, it 
appears that the TermTek TK-3550 lacks the ability to query DDC.

(II) AMD(0): VESA VBE DDC read failed
By this in the Xorg.0.log and no options to enable DDC in the BIOS, it 
is possible that it isn't wired on the board properly.
