Can you try simply starting Xorg something like
Xorg :0 -retro
That doesn't trigger the crash? What does
DISPLAY=:0 xrandr
say at that point?
If you remove the xserver-xorg-video-amdgpu package, the problem doesn't occur
anymore?</pre>
