The problem remains. (xorg-server-1.18.4 + xf86-video-ati-7.7.0)

I have no experience with these tools.

I have not been able to compile xf86-video-ati-7.5.0 for xorg-server-1.18.4:
/var/tmp/portage/x11-drivers/xf86-video-ati-7.5.0/work/xf86-video-ati-7.5.0/src/radeon_kms.c:
In function 'redisplay_dirty':
/var/tmp/portage/x11-drivers/xf86-video-ati-7.5.0/work/xf86-video-ati-7.5.0/src/radeon_kms.c:272:2:
error: too many arguments to function 'PixmapSyncDirtyHelper'
  PixmapSyncDirtyHelper(dirty, &pixregion);
