Does this only happen with Option "TearFree"? Only with a 4.4 kernel?

It sounds like it could be the problem discussed in
http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/dri-devel/2016-January/098823.html and
followups.

P.S. How does this relate to bug 90987?
