This goes deeper than Mesa/DDX, it's really DRM related (yes, maybe there are
still some endianness problems lurking in Mesa/DDX, but this should be fixed
first). Check this out:

For some reason, the DART IOMMU bypass causes problems with the Radeon DRM. I
believe this bug should be marked as a duplicate of 95015.
