radeonfb is still enabled. You need to disable it with 
video=radeonfb:off to allow radeon KMS to initialize.


The black screen is probably a login manager (gdm3?) bug: radeonfb and 
by extension the Xorg fbdev driver default to depth 8, and the login 
manager probably can't deal with that correctly.
