Xorg.0.log with Segmentation fault at address 0x10

Brought up X11 using startx.  System used two of three 1600x1200 monitors (on
one card) and left third monitor disabled.  Enabled third monitor (for
4800x1200 desktop) and inverted two of the monitors on the first card to avoid
video garbage.  Desktop worked fine at 4800x1200 (except first two monitors
were inverted). Typed CTRL-ALT-F1 and server died with above segfault. 
Re-running startx brings up server on all three monitors but it immediately
segfaults again.

Apparently I can bring up X11 on two monitors and then dynamically move to all
three, with two inverted, but once I've saved that config it won't bring it up
on its own and dies.
