[Bug 75044] Repeated mode switching eventually fails

I tried this with my Intel integrated graphics (i7 4770, Haswell). I was unable
to reproduce the behavior even after mode switching many times. So this seems
like it is probably Radeon specific. The only alternative I can imagine is that
the integrated graphics have access to a much larger amount of RAM (I have 32
GB of system memory). But that seems unlikely.

Also, I am now on kernel 3.13.4, and still see the behavior with Radeon.
