This was fixed for me by adding the AutoAddGPU false option in
/etc/X11/xorg.conf

Section "ServerFlags"
 Option  "AutoAddGPU" "false"

This is atleast for me still undocomented in man xorg.conf

Please report if you have this option set and get the same error.
