The driver is using 2560x1600

[   199.146] (II) RADEON(0): Output DisplayPort-1 using initial mode 2560x1600

Does switching to another mode with xrandr help?

E.g.,

xrandr --output DisplayPort-1 --mode 1920x1200
or
xrandr --output DisplayPort-1 --mode 1024x768
