Did you try with radeon.hw_i2c=1 or without?  You shouldn't get any
difference in behavior without that option since it uses the same code
paths as earlier kernels.

I dunno.  Nothing sticks out as problematic.  Others have used the
driver on ppc without problems.  Maybe Ben or Michel have some ideas.
