I have the same problem (with the same video-card)

I have found that if I boot the live Mythbuntu 11.10 CD, I can use xrandr to
reflect the S-video output (xy) and the reflect it back to normal, and the
video consistently is fixed.

However, this fix does not work with the latest Archlinux using kernel 3.1.6

Would love the help get this fixed.  Let me know if I can.
