It really seems like the patch fixed things. Recently, I noticed a corrupt
mouse pointer, which was fixed the next time it changed shape, but that only
happened once in many hours of use and might well have been a glitch in some
other part of the system.
It seems though like rendering has become rather expensive. For example,
playing video causes high CPU load, and playing sound in audacity when having
the waveform display zoomed in (so it changes a lot) drags down the system
distinctly.
