Okay. I've tried it (for more than five hours). The final showstopper was
mesa-git, with a compile-error in r300.
I will wait for the next official release mesa/ati-dri/xf86-video-ati and hope
the best.

By the way, even if the current git-repos include a fix. Shouldn't be the bug
itself in the radeon-kernel-module?
