How near to the edge 2-3 pixels? 5 pixels? 20 pixels?  If it's just a few
pixels, I suspect the randr code in the xserver is just hiding the cursor on
the right display as soon as the cursor hotspot crosses over to the left
monitor since the hotspot is usually on the far left of the cursor.
