You are missing the firmware, for kms you need the firmware to be present,
check with your distribution on how to do that (debian have non free firmware
package iirc) also firmware need to be accessible to the booting kernel by
either being in initrd or embedded in kernel, if you are using distribution
kernel it should works once you install the firmware
