I've only just noticed that the xserver is using the fbdev driver! How weird.

Sadly, forcing it to use the radeon driver (new Xorg attached) makes no
difference to the suspend behaviour :(

(Turns out that without an xorg.conf, the xserver will only try
xserver-xorg-video-ati, even if you have the radeon driver installed.)
