Seems doubtful.  Try removing fglrx completely and reinstalling the xserver
just in case.

If you are using an initrd, you need to include the firmware files in the
initrd.  If you build the radeon module into your kernel, you have to built the
firmware into your kernel as well.  See this page for more info:
