Summary: [evergreen] random system freezes
Product: xorg
Version: git
Platform: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS/Version: Linux (All)
Status: NEW
Severity: critical
Priority: medium
Component: Driver/Radeon
AssignedTo: xorg-driver-ati at lists.x.org
ReportedBy: jlp.bugs at gmail.com
QAContact: xorg-team at lists.x.org
Hardware: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470
Software:
KDE SC 4.5.3 (with desktop effects enalbed of course)
Linux 2.6.37-RC3
Xorg Server 1.9.2.901
Mesa, libdrm, xf86-vide-ati all from git
While using the open source, radeon driver the system is randomly freezing. I
can't determine one use case when it happens. After it freezes the SSH to the
system is still operational, so it looks like only X freezes. I can't see any
100% CPU usage in a frozen system.
I also checked dmesg and I can't see any message when this happens. Xorg.0.log
also doesn't show any crash. I have once attached with GDB to X process before
the freeze happened and the only thing I could get out of it was:
Program received signal SIGPIPE, Broken pipe.

I don't know where else too look for more useful info on what happened.
