Summary: radeon driver creates strange effect on screen
Product: xorg
Version: unspecified
Platform: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS/Version: Linux (All)
Status: NEW
Severity: blocker
Priority: medium
Component: Driver/Radeon
AssignedTo: xorg-driver-ati at lists.x.org
ReportedBy: xonybubba at optonline.net
QAContact: xorg-team at lists.x.org
When using the radeon driver, ending the display session in any way (killing
the display manager, attempting to enter a tty, shutting down the computer)
causes a very strange effect which I can only describe as a slow melting into
white from the edges of the screen, accompanied by a freezing of the actual
system itself. The only way I've found to end this is to do a hard power off by
holding the power switch to the machine. This is with a ATI Mobility Radeon HD
5870 graphics card.
