Summary: Add GPU scaling for DVI displays (for R420)
Product: xorg
Version: unspecified
Platform: x86 (IA32)
OS/Version: Linux (All)
Status: NEW
Severity: enhancement
Priority: medium
Component: Driver/Radeon
AssignedTo: xorg-driver-ati at lists.x.org
ReportedBy: redm at gmx.de
QAContact: xorg-team at lists.x.org
I'm using an Apple Cinema Display 20". It has a native resolution of 1680x1050.
No other native resolutions seem to be supported. As the radeon driver does not
support GPU scaling for DVI connected displays (as far as I understood), it's
currently not possible to run other resolutions on this display. Please add
this (IMHO very basic) feature.
Also pleas allow scaling while keeping the aspect ratio of the resolution (i.e.
adding black areas left/right or top/bottom.
I'm running this display connected to a Radeon X800(R420).
