I'm not quite sure if it's a duplicate.

I've patched the kernel as recommended in post #3:
http://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=26641#c3 and it didn't change
anything.

Gnome seems to be running a lot smoother than KDE. To me it looks like a
problem with the combination of driver stack + KWin + Qt application.
