Hello,

I am using the kernel 2.6.33 with xorg 1.8, mesa 7.8.1, libdrm 2.4.20 and
xf86-video-ati 6.13.0 (on Archlinux and the xorg18 repo that packages all of
this except kernel which is in the core repo).

I enabled KMS and it makes X freeze when I use Blender.

I already reported the bug to archlinux bugtracker and they redirected me to
you.

You can find the original bug report with detailed errors, logs and different

If you need more details or want me to do specific tests I am ready.

I am currently running with current stable (in Arch) version of xorg (1.7.6),
mesa (7.7.1) on 2.6.33 and these problems don't appear.

Also, 2 other points with the xorg18 repo:
 * Disabling KMS results in ugly artefacts when scrolling, it is somewhat
unusable, that is not the case when KMS is disabled with current xorg (there
was other artefacts with KDE but it was usable)
 * Scrolling is sometimes very slow in firefox when KMS is enabled.
